In almost all religions, the members/believers of that religion want to feel closer to their God. Some believe that to achieve this, it can be quite understandable to create necessary delusions to draw in this feeling of spiritual actualisation.
These delusions can involve things such as hearing voices from idol's such as God, Allah or even in some cases 'demon' voices. This being the case, much controversy surrounds the idea of voices being a divine sign or potentially dangerous as how can you decipher between what it real and what isn't?
This experience of hearing voices can date to as far back as the early Christian cultures where hearing these voices was seen as a blessed and divine sign rather than how we see it today; a potential mental health issue.
Either way the hearing of voices can be seen differently simply by your matter of opinion. With a born-again Christian mother, the reporting of hearing voices comes all too often but the important things is to respect each person's experiences and opinions whilst passively keeping an open mind.
